although somewhat too free in its constructions, is thorough and comprehensive.114 The formulation, ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου, alien to Greek ears, is found eighty-one times in the gospels, and with one exception (John 12:34; cf. Acts 7:56; see below, p. 170), always on the lips of Jesus. The familiar υἱὸς ἀνθρώπου from Dan. 7:13 appears once (in John 5:27; cf. Rev. 1:13; 14:14, and Heb. 2:6; see above, p. 10).
